Paperless Process Recorder (PPR) Release Notes

Release Date: 8/16/24

Release Notes:

This release introduces features and fixes mostly related to 8-channel support, that weren't completed for the v9.2 release.

IMPORTANT: Updating to 9.1.0 may take up to 1 hour.
Please do not disconnect the power while the system is updating.
Once a PPR has been upgraded to a 9.2 version, do not downgrade it below 9.2. The database layout has changed in an incompatible way.

New Features:

#1676

The 8-channel PPR can be toggled between showing all eight channels, or four at a time.

#1688

A system event log event is added when records are deleted because the system storage is running low.

#1626

The PartNumber field in dynamic.ini is now used to determine hardware configuration, and takes precedence over the old HMIConfiguration and Input2Enabled settings. The old settings still work if PartNumber is not specified.

Fixed Issues:

#1442

Dead man's switch is triggered when internal storage is almost full.

#1467, #1685, #1705

HMI, STLR/Input1, and Input 2 (if enabled) firmware versions are now sent to Legendary.

#1705

PV5-8 information for a record and PPR PartNumber are now uploaded to Legendary

#1633

The storage warning popup no longer blocks the main thread of the HMI.

#1677

The default SFLR setpoints on a newly-manufactured blank PPR are now valid.

#1705

Fix "DB Error" events being added to the event log every 20 seconds after a database error. [Also in 9.1.5 and 9.2.2]

#1723

Expire MariaDB binary logs after seven days, to avoid excessive space usage. [Also in 9.1.5 and 9.2.2]

#1724

Remove "Universal" from the default non-STLR input names, so they aren't too long.

#1726

Prevent STLR setpoint from being set higher than the maximum input value.

#1727

Hide "STLR / SFLR Setpoints" tab from Recorder Configuration when not in STLR mode.

Other:

#1682, #1702

Crash logging was improved and system logs are now persisted across boots. [Also in 9.1.2 and 9.2.1]

#1683

The hardware watchdog is now managed by the recorder process instead of the HMI process, for more stable recording. [Also in 9.1.2 and 9.2.1]

#1684

Add more granular disk space info, number of rows in data/status tables, headers to system info logs. Add debug log message when rows are possibly deleted for space cleanup. [Also in 9.1.5 and 9.2.2]

Known Issues

#1708, #1712

SFLR setpoints, input names, and more on the home screen may not update when changed in Recorder/Input Configuration until the PPR is power cycled.

#1678

Creating records freezes the HMI for up to 9 seconds.

#1679

Unlocking Recorder Configuration takes up to 12 seconds.

#1348

The software version displayed on the Version > Software screen may be incorrect. The correct version will always be displayed on the Version > Overview screen.

#1497

New users don't appear in the Users list until the page is closed and reopened.

Release Date: 8/16/24

IMPORTANT: Updating to 9.0.32 may take up to 1 hour.
Please do not disconnect the power while the system is updating.

Known Issues:

The alarm setpoint values shown on the Alarm Status page may be inaccurate for Universal Inputs. The correct values are shown on the configuration pages for the individual alarms. The correct values are stored in the system, so the behavior of the alarms is correct, the issue only affects how they are displayed to the user.
