Are there other aspects to consider than product savings in a time-controlled operation?

With time-based plant operation, you never know exactly what is in the pipe. With our analysis sensors you can differentiate between products and thus optimize the process.

How long does the light source last with ITM-51 and ITM-4?

Our turbidity sensors are generally designed for a very long service life. Depending on the process application, our turbidity sensors can last up to 10 to 15 years.

When should the ITM-4 DW be used and when the ITM-4?

ITM-4 DW has no 3A approval, but is approved for drinking water applications and comes with the material PPSU. The ITM-4 on the other hand has a 3A approval and can therefore be used for food applications.

In which applications is the ITM-4 better than the ITM-51?

The ITM-4 measures in the 4-beam alternating light method at 90 ° and 0 °, so the ITM-4 is mainly used for low turbidity (from 0 to 5000 NTU), e.g. water/sewage. The ITM-51, on the other hand, measures in the scattered light method and finds its main application in medium to high turbidity (200 to 300,000 NTU). Typical applications are e.g. the changeover between two products or the water-product transition.

Is it possible with our sensors to operate digital IO-Link and analog 4...20 mA in parallel?

All our sensors equipped with Flex-Hybrid technology are so-called hybrid sensors. This means that all these transmitters can output IO-Link AND 4.... 20mA. It is only important to select the correct M12 connector for this. Tables and instructions can be found in the respective product information or operating manuals.

Can I use an analog temperature signal in addition to the conductivity- also for my control? If so, do I have to do this?

The ILM-4 sensor can simultaneously output temperature in 4...20 mA and conductivity in 4...20 mA. The conductivity is already output temperature compensated. For this purpose the transmitter I62 or I63 must be selected. The I42 transmitter can only output one mA signal.

Is the conductivity sensor ILM-4 also available with switching output

Yes, the I63 transmitter must be selected for this.

Can the temperature measured by the device also be used as an analog signal?

The temperature cannot be used as an analog signal because it is not output with the M12 connector. The temperature measurement is only used as a 20°C internal temperature compensation and is displayed in the E-prism software.

Can the device recognize different colors?

The turbidity measurement is completely color insensitive. Therefore it cannot recognize or distinguish colors.

Can our ITM's distinguish light from dark beer?

A turbidity measurement is color independent, i.e. our turbidity meters can only distinguish different cloudiness levels of beer. However, light and dark beer often differ in turbidity, which means that the turbidity value can also be used to differentiate between light and dark beer.

Do air bubbles influence the turbidtiy measurement?

Air bubbles have a great influence on turbidity. A big air bubble directly in front of the lens is output by the ITM-51 or ITM-4 as "air", and the sensor can' t take a measurement at that moment. However, small air bubbles due to possible turbulence or self-priming pumps are much more common. These can greatly disturb the turbidity measurement. To ensure a continuous and reproducible measurement, it is always recommended to measure the product with as few air bubbles as possible.

Does subscription depend on number of users? Is there a limitation on number of users?

No, subscription is not dependent on number of users and there is no limitation to number of Legendary or PPR users.

Can I just purchase PPR and not Legendary subscription?

No, a subscription to Legendary must be purchased with each PPR. The value of digital records created by PPR is augmented by the seamless integration with Legendary to streamline workflow of creating, approving and storing these digital records in an efficient and secure way.

Does PPR need to be used with Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS)?

Yes, for pasteurization system to be PMO compliant PPR will have to be powered through UPS capable of maintaining power to PPR for twenty (20) minutes. PPR consumes a maximum of 48 watts and would require ≥ 0.66 amp hour UPS.

What if internet is down or Legendary is not accessible during state inspection?

If Legendary is not accessible for any reason during state inspection, removable USB drive can be unplugged from PPR and used in the computer to access last 90 days of charts. Alternatively, those charts can be reviewed locally using PPR display as well.

Does PPR have physical seals?

Yes. Physical seal is an available option in order matrix.

Is PPR PMO approved?

Release 1 of the product is intended for use in dairy applications that are subject to PMO Appendix H Section V, The Anderson-Negele team has created an application guide to show various state regulators how this product meets the various requirements in section V.  The STLR version of the product will also be subject to section PMO Appendix H Section VI, the Anderson-Negele team is working to get a third party dairy equipment review and obtain an FDA MB that shows compliance to these requirement for use in all US states.

How will PPR unit be installed in parallel with existing recorder in STLR application?

Anderson-Negele will provide Special Dual SB STLR Probe and Control Transfer Switch to connect PPR in parallel with existing recorder in STLR application.

Will state inspector be able to view or sign-off records remotely?

Yes, but only if the plant gives that access to state inspectors. Plant admin can enable/disable state inspector access to their records at any time.

How will state inspector sign-off records?

State inspectors will be provided Legendary login credentials. State inspector will be able to approve and/or comment on any record in Legendary.

Is there an on-premise version of Legendary?

No, there is no on-premise version or Legendary. It is a cloud only solution and accessible from any device with internet access.

How do I know if PPR is connected to Legendary?

A visual indication for cloud connectivity is shown in PPR display. A green cloud icon means PPR is connected to Legendary and red cloud icon means it is not.

How do I access Legendary?

The URL to access Legendary software for your organization will be emailed to you when your account is created. Contact your organization’s Legendary Admin or Anderson-Negele customer success, if needed.

Can PPR work with an active directory of Microsoft Accounts?

PPR/Legendary currently does not support single sign-on (SSO) but it is on the product roadmap for 2021. However, PPR/Legendary information can be imported into Legendary using the data import tool, or using web services from source employee HR systems, of flat files. User access is granted or revoked via EDIS.

How do I know that internet connection through PPR is secure?

PPR platform is designed such that all communication via internet can only be initiated by PPR. By keeping all ports closed at other times it prevents any connection or communication attempt from outside. Transport Layer Security (TLS) is used for data communications and web service transmissions between the PPR and Legendary via secure Representational State Transfer (REST) API service calls over HTTPS. TLS encryption ensures that no third party may eavesdrop or tamper with any message.

Can someone change PPR input and output configuration remotely?

No, in general PPR configurations cannot be configured remotely, especially the ones that could affect process measurement or control like input or output configuration. However, PPR will query and sync with latest list of users and approval workflow in Legendary at pre-defined frequency.

Can I print chart from PPR?

Local printing from PPR is not available. However, it can be printed from Legendary.

Will PPR lose configuration/calibration if battery is removed?

No. PPR will save configuration/calibration information in its internal memory and will be preserved even if battery is removed or power is lost. In addition, customer can manually upload complete PPR configuration to Legendary for backup. If changes are made to PPR configuration and user doesn’t manually upload new configuration, PPR will automatically upload new configuration to Legendary at 12:00AM.

Does PPR have a battery backup?

PPR has a CR2032 coin battery backup but solely for the purpose of maintaining real-time clock. The battery is field replaceable and will ensure system date/time is accurate for a minimum period of 1 month in an unpowered recorder. If the battery is completely drained or is removed while PPR is powered off, PPR system date/time might have to be manually setup if automatic date/time sync with network is not enabled.
