Minimum Investment - Maximum Return
Retrofitting of a filling plant ensures high flexibility for Gropper Dairy
In the 80 years since the Gropper Dairy was founded in 1929, the familyrun business has succeeded in becoming a leading German filler of fresh dairy products. In addition to distributing its own brand, Gropper has used a strategy of investment and innovation to drive growth in the areas of private labels and co-packing. Based on extensive experience in product development, the Gropper Dairy is today able to offer superb quality coupled with high flexibility and optimal technical conditions.

Severe climates with high humidity and cold temperatures
Reliable level measurement in dairies
Hydrostatic level measurement using a pressure sensor is a standard procedure in many dairy applications. Nevertheless, problems with drift or unstable measurements are not uncommon. These usually occur in areas prone to condensation, such as storage tanks, where cold media are measured in a humid environment. Because condensation can potentially lead to the complete failure of the measurement sensor, many users look for the cause of the problem and a technical solution.

Phase separation during CIP
Measuring turbidity during CIP cleaning exemplified by the Berchtesgadener Land Dairy
All devices that come into contact with the final product must be carefully cleaned to eliminate bacterial contamination. CIP systems (Cleaning-In-Place) clean modules that come into contact with the process, without it being necessary to dismantle the system parts, thus ensuring a high availability of the entire production plant.
The automation of the CIP process requires reliable sensors that meet the stringent requirements for chemical resistance and withstand rapid and frequent temperature fluctuations, thus ensuring a reliable process flow.
The Berchtesgadener Land Dairy therefore relies on NEGELE turbidity sensors "ITM-2" for the so called "rinse milk separation".

Conductivity measurement during tartar stabilization in wineries
NEGELE conductivity meters for process control during tartar stabilization at Rotkäppchen-Mumm Sektkellereien GmbH
Tartar refers to calcium salt (calcium tartrate) or potassium salt (potassium hydrogen tartrate), both of which can occur through the combination of tartaric acid with calcium or potassium.
While this may be tolerable in still wines as an indicator of a high mineral content, the “wine diamonds” are undesirable in sparkling wines.
To control the wine stabilization process, Rotkäppchen-Mumm uses ILM-2 conductivity meters from NEGELE.

Temperature and limit measurement points for the pharmaceutical industry
Negele Messtechnik GmbH has made a name for itself in the food industry as an innovative manufacturer
of sensors and process integration systems. In addition, NEGELE is increasingly establishing itself as an expert in tailored solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
In the pharmaceutical industry, a consistently high product quality is critical to the survival of any manufacturer. Apart from reliable and reproducible process monitoring, this requires components that can be cleaned and sterilized with absolutely no residue. The systems and sensors used in production must be designed to reflect this requirement. Negele Messtechnik has brought out two build-in systems for the pharmaceutical industry that it developed specifically to meet these demands.

Measurement of media with dielectric constants below 20
Capacitive limit switches from NEGELE with a hygienic process connection
Most process and storage vessels use limit switches to prevent overfilling of the vessel (full indicator) or dry running of a pump (empty indicator). For this reason, the range of solutions available on the market is broad, with sensors varying in terms of their operating principle and process integration. The new electronic limit switches of the NCS series are ideally suited for the reliable measurement of limits in media with a low water content, such as certain cosmetics and alcohols. The devices are designed for universal application in all areas of the pharmaceutical and food industries.

Automatically clean
Sensors for CIP systems
Modern cleaning systems are inconceivable without reliable sensors. Rising cost pressure in the food industry is leading to an increased reliance on automation of these systems.
However, in many companies the potential for savings in this area lies dormant. In addition to implementing systems with an efficient design and effective control, it is becoming increasingly important to integrate sensors that keep an "eye" on the process.

No more flooding
Reliable hydrostatic level measurement without sensor drift in any climate conditions!
Level measurement with hydrostatic pressure sensors enjoys widespread use. Unfortunately, it is often accompanied by sensor drift and unstable measurements. This phenomenon occurs in virtually all hydrostatic level switches, regardless of the manufacturer. This study examines the causes and presents a solution.

Rapid response time
The potentiometric level measurement from NEGELE
When levels need to be measured in very small vessels or in pipes, conventional hydrostatic pressure sensors fail due to the small size of the signal.
Also, pasty and strongly adhesive media frequently cause erroneous measurements, especially when using capacitive level switches. Problem cases such as these are best solved with the NSK-... potentiometric, continuous level switches from NEGELE, which can measure levels beginning at 50 mm.

Two for all situations
Flow monitoring in fluid media in hygienic and sterile processes
Negele Messtechnik GmbH now includes flow measurement devices in its product spectrum and offers two flow monitors that operate on different principles. Because the market needs fast and temperature-independent flow monitors, NEGELE offers an ultrasonic flow monitor in addition to the long-established calorimetric sensor type.
